The walk is 2300 metres long, with many pic-nic areas.

The creation of “Il Tondo” was one of the projects initiated between 1820 and 1830 by the wife of Marco Landucci, a Sienese nobleman and local landowner. The area has recently been restored to its former state by the local authority, thus rediscovering a beautiful corner of Montefollonico and saving it from neglect and inevitable decay. “Il Tondo”, which is near the village, is to be found at the top of a limestone hill from which stunning views can be enjoyed. On clear days one can see from Lake Trasimeno to the Val d'Orcia dominated by Monte Amiata. It is a little wood of cypresses and ilex, planted in circular form, with two round stone tables in the centre, an ideal place for resting and enjoying the quiet coolness of the park. On the surrounding hillside is a wood of various types of oak, ilex, ash, heather, broom and juniper, which afford a habitat to the typical tuscan fauna such as squirrels, deer, boar, badgers and various species of birds. Within the park the old pathways, now brought back into use, lead the “traveller” through a magnificent natural habitat to the discovery of places which, with their legends and traditions, reflect the history and culture of Montefollonico.
